The Asian Educational Media Service of the Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign will host Chinese Film and Society, a summer teacher institute from July 9 to August 3, 2012. The institute, which is supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities, aims to “to make use of films to understand and interpret Chinese history, culture, and contemporary society, and to understand the problematics of film as a medium for representing an entire nation.”
This opportunity is open to K-12 educators and graduate students of education intending to become teachers. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2012. Visit the Chinese Film and Society website for more information about the institute and complete application instructions.
